How Domain Rating works

Domain Rating (DR) is a 0–100 score that estimates the strength of a website’s backlink profile. Higher DR generally means a stronger link profile — and better ranking potential.

rating.so also shows RatingDR — our own score, which weighs classic DR against traffic and link evidence.

How often it updates

  • Free — recalculated once per day.
  • Basic / Pro / Agency — recalculated 4× a day, plus unlimited Update now.

A scheduled job snapshots DR into your history so the chart fills in over time.

Free-plan pause policy

  • If you don’t visit your dashboard for more than 10 days, updates for Free domains pause until your next visit.
  • Abandoned domains still refresh about once a month.
  • Paid plans never pause.

Reading the chart

  • Δ 7d / 30d — change over the selected window.
  • Green delta = DR climbed; red = dropped.
  • Hover any point for exact DR and date.

Tips to grow DR

  • Earn links from high-DR, topically relevant sites.
  • Fix or reclaim lost backlinks — rating.so flags these on paid Trust Map views.
  • Prioritize a few strong links over many weak ones.
